Help Shape Sorrento
This campaign is a work in progress and we want to hear from you on what you would like to see in Sorrento to make it an even better place to live and relax. Please take some time to register as part of our Sorrento By The Sea Club to receive updates on this campaign and to let us know your ideas.

In Carmel By The Sea the top tourist attraction is where visitors pop into City Hall and collect their "permit to wear high heels in the town." Given the beach and at times uneven footpaths in Carmel the permit absolves the local Council of liability for those who may hurt themselves whilst wearing high heels on their visit. The attraction is a bit of fun and is viral on social media. If you don't believe us - Google it!
Given the very steep hill from the ferry to the main area of Ocean Beach Road, high heels in Sorrento are not the best choice of footwear. While not ordering anyone what to wear in 2025 as a bit of fun and sharing from Carmel we have mooted the idea of replicating the tourist draw card - a permit for those who want to wear high heels in Sorrento. Now calm down. It is all in a bit of fun for those who wish to get their permit!

A privately funded campaign to refresh and
re-energise our beautiful Sorrento.
